Am I Crazy...
For choosing Warrior as the secondary to my primary Mesmer character?
I am NOT using the warrior secondary for melee but rather I am using the tactics line for a bit of defense as well as group support shouts.
I'm mainly using shields up and watch yourself as it's what I have available to me. Haven't required much in the way of a defensive skill yet.
I finished prophecies the completely legit (no running, no drok's armor until drok's) way with an Elementalist and now I'm giving it a go with a Mesmer. I remember as my elementalist always wishing I had some form of group defensive buffs.
Tactics seems to provide a little bit of this. Shields Up is definately great when I my henchies and I get ambushed by a ton of ranger mobs.
Am I crazy?
Seems /Mo is all the rage all the time.

I don't know about crazy.
I see lots of intersting Tactics skills a mesmer can use.
It can even function similar to Inspiration in many a way.
I have never tried it because it didn't appear to have that many skills that I'd want to use, but if you find it to work well enough in PvE as a mesmer, please post what you find. I'd like to hear about it.

same here! I mean besides my favourite classic mesmer build Illusionary Slasher, ive been wondering about other uses for the tactics line, as its my favourite attribute for a warrior

I haven't really looked into the tatics line for the mesmer. I suppose "Shields UP!" would be a pretty nifty skill to take along with you. I'd be weary of taking healing signet into particular builds, though.

Solon, I applaud you for thinking outside the box.... you may be crazy for all I know, but it has nothing to do with your selection. I started a Necro in Factions a long time ago and chose War as his secondary and it worked out very well.
I went on to unlock all secondaries and never have gone back to it, but I think you're doing something cool here. Keep up the good work.

Not crazy, but it will be much more effectitive later on when you get elites like Illusionary Weapon
Factions - Protectors Defense or Core- Defensive Stance are good when getting pounded on.

I'm thinking about /A right now.
It works in some PvP area's, but I'm not sure if it's a good option in PvE.

It sure is.
Try using a domination damage build with [skill]assassin's promise[/skill] with 10 in deadly arts...

I've seen that one, but was more thinking about shadow stepping and touch skills.

I've experimented with Shadow Step and "Tease" in PvP environment. It'll work in Alliance Battle, but be prepared to run as once you "Tease" them they'll be chasing you. Still it was a whole lots of fun.
Here's the skeleton build:
Me/A
Inspiration 16
[skill]Shadow Walk[/skill][skill]Dash[/skill][skill]Tease[/skill] a cover hex + rest optional
Another alternative to your Me/W is to go Me/D.
Use Vital Boon + Conviction for a +24 AL and a free 100~175 Heal every 20s.
